about

The first single from Psyclops debut record 'Amalgam'.

Call Off the Haunt is about recognizing your own toxicity towards yourself and those you interact with, assessing it, and thus gaining the ability to move forward and grow as an individual. This song has a theme centering around how toxic relationships are often thought of as one sided with a clear victim of abuse.

lyrics

I recall before you knew my name
We hit it off but then things do change
You learned the things that would push me away
Well I wrote that book so I'll do the same myself

Your presence used to make me feel unreal

It's hard to find what words feel safe
Suffice to say that some love breeds hate
This back and forth has drove me insane
But when I look back there is no one to blame but myself

These days you just make me feel
Shot through my Achilles heel
These constant games have lost appeal
Now we're just different people
I've found new ways to make me feel unreal

What's left, everything, I repeal and hold on to all of myself
